Shannon and John’s wedding

Most often when I photograph a wedding, the number of guests averages around 125.  I’ve shot a few weddings with upwards of 300 and as few as 50.  So when Shannon and John told me they’d have less than 20 people at their wedding, themselves included, I was a bit surprised. Their wedding a few weeks ago was one of the nicest I’ve shot all year.  I seldom get to visit with anyone and get to know anyone.  With 20 people, it’s hard not to.  There was none of the wedding day “usual” craziness.  No running around trying to wrangle guests and family for photos.  No rushing around trying to get photos done so we can hurry to the reception.  After their Mass at St. Edwards Cathedral, we had the place to ourselves for at least an hour.  That allowed for plenty of photos and NO rushing.  That alone was a treat.  Afterwards, we had about two hours before the dinner reception so we all piled into Shannon’s father’s car and we headed out for a few couples portraits around Little Rock.  Since i ... read more
