As many of you know, I attended the Jose Villa Mexico Workshop back in November. I’ve had these photos on my computer since December and have been reluctant to show them to anyone. Not because I didn’t want to share the experience but because I think I wanted to hold onto it for as long as I could.
I went to Mexico not knowing what to expect. A lot of people think that you attend a workshop to learn how to photograph like the photographer leading it; however, that was the one thing I didn’t want to do. (Sorry Jose:)) It is SO easy to separate yourself off from other creative people as the year progresses because I become so busy with work and I wanted to learn how other people saw life. I also wanted to push myself into going back to basics….what I went to school for…to shoot more film. I had to do it. I needed a new challenge that I could put all of myself into.
