This Is What Wedding Photos Do

Were you to poll all your married friends and ask them to raise their hands if their wedding photographer assembled the bridesmaids for a group shot of them all in front of the house before they left for the wedding, how many do you think would say yes? 99%? 75% Do you think at very least a majority of your friends would raise their hands? It’s a very common shot so chances are good a majority would. I’ve seen that shot – for years – and continue to see it. But here’s the concern with that. And it’s not even that you end up with the same photo as everyone else in their album when that happens.. It’s that at any given moment in your life you can either do one thing – or another. And if what you’re doing, if what your moment is involved with, to use the example above, is being preoccupied with manufacturing a posed shot, then you’ve essentially shut out any real-life event that would’ve, could’ve happened.
