I have been shooting families, children and weddings for five years. To date, I have completed somewhere around 150 weddings and an unknown amount of family, engagement, maternity and newborn sessions! I graduated from college with my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language in 2004. In the past I have worked as a preschool teacher, a nanny to identical twins, a legal assistant and now, a wedding photographer. Wedding photography is something that fell into my lap when I was in college working as a nanny. I was taking care of a pair of identical twins full-time and secretly began taking portraits of the babies over a period of months and gave the album to the parents as a gift for Mother's Day. With that project, Heizer Photography was born. My long term goals are to work with children and families in a social services or legal setting. I have also completed 18 months of law school, but am on a break shooting weddings full time at the moment. In the meantime, wedding photography has been a wonderful creative release and a continuing learning opportunity in the study of human relationships. And I love recording and preserving the love displayed in those relationships...
