Weekends are for thirst. For acknowledging that our cups are empty, and that we cannot fill them. And so we turn to the only One who can— the Living Water. Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."He says, I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.And we respond— How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They feast on the abundance of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.
